1. Hook Up With WordPress.org
Your website is your calling card so you must be sure that it represents your brand. The hands down best platform to host your site on is WordPress.org.
I know there’s a lot of confusion between WordPress.org and WordPress.com. Hopefully, this explanation can clarify it once and for all. Simply WordPress.org means that your site is self-hosted and WordPress.com means that you are hosting your site on the WordPress servers. When you host your site on the WordPress servers you will not have a unique web address. Your web address will read something like this http://YOURNAME.wordpress.com versus http://YOURNAME.com when your site is self-hosted.
What’s the difference? Well, if you plan on having a professional site and eventually want to sell products and services it’s essential. Think about it, which site would you trust more when it comes time to input your credit card information? Most people trust sites that are self-hosted, so it’s definitely a worthwhile investment. Maybe it's time to refresh your brand and make a SPLASH!
What does Maya Angelou have to do with branding? Lots, my friends.
And speaking of friends, I must say I have great friends.
Why?
Because they didn’t get annoyed at me for saying for the past X months that I needed to refresh/revitalize/renew and about any word that started with an “r-e” to my brand.
Even saying “my brand” sounds cheesy to me, because I believe that building a brand should be organic and no frills and based on the real you.
Since I’m very busy, and constantly juggling lot of balls in the air, I needed to refresh/revitalize/renew my personal brand in a way that could be done relatively easily.

Everyone’s talking about personal branding these days. The advice says to do this or to do that, and it all sounds so good.
